The most iconic event of Tas Whisky Week returns.
Hope & Anchor
Friday 8th August
6pm
The most iconic event of Tas Whisky Week returns to one of Hobart’s most storied venues – the Hope & Anchor, Australia’s oldest continuously licensed pub est. 1807.
Described as speed dating (except with some of Tasmania’s finest whisky producers), at the ring of the bell they will move from table to table and pour their whisky for you, take you through the tasting and answer all the questions you’ve ever wanted to ask (and some they wish you didn’t).
Meet the makers from 7K Distillery, Huntingfield Whisky, Bogan Road Distillery, Lawrenny Estate and Turner Stillhouse for a very special evening.
The fun begins with either a glass of sparkling or beer at the upstairs bar before being guided to your table. Your MC for the night is the legendary and theatrical Jack Lark.
This event sells out fast – and it’s no surprise why. The whisky is excellent, the stories are unforgettable, and the heritage setting adds a unique Tassie charm.
Included:
- 5 x 15ml Tasmanian whiskies
- 3 Course Dinner
- Welcome drink
Start time 6pm upstairs – feel free to arrive earlier to enjoy a drink at the downstairs bar.
Hope & Anchor Tavern – Steeped in history and character, this heritage pub remains a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.
Bottle sales are available in the evening, direct from the distilleries.
This event is supported by AON Insurance – Tas Whisky Week major event sponsor.
