About the day

One afternoon, every distillery, the best of Tasmanian whisky.

The Tasmanian Whisky Showcase is the centrepiece of the festival — a single afternoon at Princes Wharf No. 1 where every Tasmanian distillery sets up alongside one another, pours from their best stock, and hands you the chance to taste the entire island in one go.

Distillers, blenders, and brand ambassadors are on the floor to talk you through every dram. Expect rare drops, single-cask releases, festival-only pours, and a few surprises tucked behind the bar.

The Showcase is general admission and standing — come for an hour or stay all afternoon. Whichever bar you start at, you’ll finish somewhere unexpected.

01

Pour by pour

Every distillery has its own bar. Wander between them at your own pace and taste your way around the island.

02

Meet the makers

Talk shop with the distillers and blenders behind every bottle. Ask the questions you can’t ask anywhere else.

03

Festival-only releases

Single casks, blender’s picks, and rare drops poured for the Showcase only. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Common questions

Showcase, explained.

What’s included with my ticket?

Entry to the Showcase, a Glencairn tasting glass to keep, and tasting samples from every distillery on the floor. Some distillers may offer paid pours of rare or single-cask releases on top of the standard tasting, so a small amount of cash or card on the day is a good idea.

Is the Showcase seated or standing?

General admission and standing. Plenty of bar leaners and casual seating around the room. Wear comfortable shoes — you’ll cover ground.

How long does the Showcase run?

The Tasmanian Whisky Showcase runs as a single session from 1pm to 7pm at Princes Wharf No. 1, Hobart. You’ll receive a set of sample tokens on arrival to exchange for pours across the room. The tokens keep the pace sensible so you can savour each whisky and meet the makers behind them without feeling rushed.

Are tickets transferable or refundable?

Tickets are transferable up to 48 hours before the event — just get in touch and we’ll update the name. Refunds aren’t generally available, but we’re happy to discuss exceptional circumstances.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. Princes Wharf No. 1 has step-free entry and accessible bathrooms. If you have specific accessibility needs we should know about, drop us a line via the contact page and we’ll make sure your day runs smoothly.

Can I bring under-18s?

The Showcase is strictly an 18+ event, including for accompanied minors. ID may be requested on entry.
