Belgrove Distillery stands as a truly unique and sustainable whisky distillery. It is one of the few establishments globally that grows all its own grain, malts, ferments, distills, and barrel ages on site. They power their operations using biofuel, biodiesel, and recycled waste cooking oil, while also recycling waste water for irrigation. The distillery’s popular 100% rye whisky is made from home-grown ryecorn and distilled in a copper pot still, built from scratch by the founder. The highly sought-after Holy Shit Rye Whisky gained fame after being featured on Gordon Ramsay’s TV show, Uncharted. The malted rye grain is smoked by burning dried sheep dung, resulting in delicate phenol notes, honey sweetness, and a fruity nose.
